John Puckett-The Ocean Blues

Why does 'singing the blues' need to suggest that your sad about something? I thought it would be fun to turn things around a little bit. So I wrote some lyrics to a traditional Chicago-style blues shuffle pattern, got some great players together, and called it "Ocean Blues." In this song "singing the blues" means something that makes you happy. Being near the coast, looking out over that beautiful blue water, is one of life’s "happy places" for many people, myself included. This is one of the reasons that I so enjoy writing music in the "Coastal Americana" genre. This is the first single from what will eventually become my "Summer State Of Mind" album. I’ve written and recorded many songs while touring around Florida this past winter and plan to release them over the coming months for all my Trop-Rock loving friends to enjoy! Please consider adding this song to your Spotify Playlist if you like it, as well as giving the video a thumbs-up. Of course, my music is available on all streaming platforms. Also, be sure to check out my last album "Tropability." It is guaranteed to give you the "Ocean Blues!" Enjoy! John Puckett www.johnpuckett.com
