We had to have our beagal-bassat mix dog "Otis" put down a few weeks ago because he tried to bite our granddaughter. He was a very special dog but over the past year he had become very protective of my wife. It all came to a head when he tried to bite our little Harper it caught us off guard because she was the one person that didn't ever seem to bother him. About a week after he was gone I started hearing the whimper of a dog during the middle of the night I first thought it was our labradoodle "Molly" but I would find her sound asleep next to my wife. Otis was a VERY strong headed dog and really loved my wife I know people can stick around after death sometimes but I never thought an animal could.
