Lou is a SUNY Distinguished Professor of History at the State University of New York--New Paltz. The recipient of a SUNY Chancellor's Award for Scholarship or Creative Work in 2015, he also serves as Co-General Editor of The Journal of Early American History and is a member of the advisory councils of the McNeil Center for Early American Studies and The Jacob Leisler Center for the Study of Early New York History.
