The Evolution Of Civilizations - From Instrument To Institution

We discuss Carroll Quigley's book "The Evolution of Civilizations: An Introduction to Historical Analysis" which makes the convincing case for a universally applicable methodology of understanding the evolution of all civilizations known to mankind, and helps us understand the bigger context of where we stand today and where we can go from here. In this particular episode we analyze the general tendency of all societal instruments to turn into institutions that no longer achieve the objectives they were created for, but rather end up prioritizing their own aggrandizement in wealth, power, and prestige, and what solutions civilizations have come up with to address this problem in the past.
