Suspect Appears in Court for the first time After The Parliament Fire

South Africa -Cape Town - 4 January 2022 - Zandile Christmas Mafe looked disoriented and confused when he appeared in the Cape Town Magistrates Court on Tuesday in connection with the fire in Parliament. CCTV footage spotted him in the building from around 2am, shortly before the blaze broke out on Sunday. He's facing three charges so far of theft, arson and housebreaking.
