After six days of deliberations that spanned the holiday weekend, a jury of six men and six women reached a decision in the federal sex trafficking trial in New York City. As the jury deliberated, U.S. District Judge Alison Nathan, who presided over the case, became concerned that the omicron variant of the coronavirus and rising case numbers in the city could result in a mistrial, and she told the jury that if no verdict was reached by the end of the weekend, they would have to deliberate all weekend.
