Ryan received a phalloplasty a few days before the COVID lockdown was announced in 2020. Since then, Ryan has undergone a second procedure that has resulted in a urethrovaginal fistula, an abnormal, healed connection between the rectum and the urethra which allows feces to have a direct path to Ryan's kidneys. This creates an immediate and intractible risk of severe UTI and complications related to that, which include sepsis, loss of limb, brain damage, and death. Ryan is seeking legal advice and possibly representation. Most of these complications relate to the vaginectomy, which was performed on healthy tissue which should therefore have not resulted in a fistula connecting not one but two adjacent structures.
