God is good all the time 398: Christmas' Importance, Date vs Purpose

What is this all about? Christmas' importance...yes which is more important; the actual date of Jesus birth or the purpose for which He came to earth? Why would that come up? For many years there have been many who say that because we don't celebrate Jesus birthday an the correct day that Christmas is a bogus holiday or that the celebration of it has no true meaning. There are those who come up with many different dates to say this is the true date of Jesus birth and that we should celebrate it then. But the point is not about the date or the reason that the celebration is when it is, rather is the date really important for the celebration of the PURPOSE for Jesus' birth.

Is it really important that we know the actual date when scripture doesn't mention it? Or is the purpose that He came for that is mentioned more important? Join me as I look at that very idea and see what conclusion you might make.
