Congratulations for getting your first SCX24. I hope this video helps you keep your new truck running well for a long time.

The following is a post from aone of my posts in a Facebook group. It details what I do when I get a new truck:

"This is my New SCX24 Pre-Drive Inspection And Procedures List:

De-sticker the motor for better heat dissipation.

Clearance the upper front upper suspension link so it doesn't rub on the driveshaft yoke.

Ensure both driveshafts are phased properly.

Ensure wheel nuts are not over-tightened. On some trucks it will bind the axle. (Not all. I am not sure why.)

Move the headlight wires away from the swing of the front tires as much as possible.

Clearance the upper rear suspension links so they are not travel limited by the lower battery tray mounting screws. You can unscrew them slightly to keep the ends of the screws from hitting the rear upper suspension links. If you feel the link flexing before the suspension reaches full compression, it is binding.

My Extended Preparation List below has things that never really need to be done but in my opinion are foundational for a great truck. It is the foundation that I build upon.

-High clearance links via a heat gun. My YouTube channel has a video showing the process.

Remove (cut off) as much unnecessary weight from the top of the truck. Lower what you can't remove. Every gram removed from the top is equivalent to adding one on the bottom.

Magnetic body mounts

Add heat sinks to the motor

Clearance the wheels arches so they don't rub on the tires.

Put heavy grease in the shocks

-Now its ready for me to drive. : )

For everyone else who is not interested in doing all of these things, just drive it and hope nothing burns up. Accept known rubbing and clearance issues. The choice is up to the buyer. I just hope they don't whine and blame Axial when their motor smokes in a week."
