Father Jeremiah explains the reasoning behind a December 25th date for celebrating Jesus' birth. Is it a borrowing of pagan dating for other things? Or is there something else going on that led the church to select December 25th?

Some articles that give more detail and explain some of what Father Jeremiah is saying:

Father Jeremiah is the vicar (part time parish priest) of Grace Anglican Church in Gastonia, NC. Grace Anglican is a church that is intentionally liturgical and desires to show people the beauty of the liturgy in daily life. We want people to learn how to serve Jesus through the various vocations he has placed each of us in. These vocations are the God-given places of our lives where we can truly love and serve our neighbors. The liturgy connects to our vocations by shaping us to see and love the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in our serving those we encounter in our daily lives.

Grace Anglican is a multi-generational, growing congregation that thrives on building relationships with all those who enter her doors. We worship every Sunday at 10am at 800 Robinson Rd, Gastonia, NC. Come and visit and discover the joy of liturgical worship and being sent to love and serve in our vocations. Visit us at https://www.gracegastonia.com for more about our church.
