Perfectly preserved dinosaur embyro found inside fossilised egg in China

The remains of the world's most complete baby dinosaur has been found by researchers inside a fossilised egg which was just about to hatch.

The perfectly preserved embryo from at least 66 million years ago was unearthed "lying like a bird" from the Upper Cretaceous Nanxiong Formation in Jiangxi Province, southern China.

The posture of the embryo - head below the body, feet either side and back curled on the blunt end of the shell - is to be unique to modern birds and boosts survival
