Nevada Governor Candidate Joey Gilbert Endorsed by Nationally Recognized Baptist Pastor

RENO, Nev. – December 22, 2021 – Pastor Greg Locke is the fiery leader of a Tennessee Baptist church who has made national headlines for continuing in-person worship services during the pandemic. He is also known as a loud opponent of mask and vaccine mandates.

His fight to continue ministering his flock with in-person services met common ground with Nevada gubernatorial candidate Joey Gilbert, an attorney instrumental in reopening Nevada’s churches last year. Their shared beliefs forged a personal bond that led the outspoken preacher to endorse Gilbert in his candidacy for governor of Nevada.

“I am here to officially endorse my friend, Joey Gilbert, for the governor of the great state of Nevada,” said Pastor Locke, who added the two have traveled the nation together in their shared fight against oppressive mandates. “I am privileged and honored to call him my friend, and I am glad to come alongside of him once again and say I endorse him wholeheartedly.”

The leader of Mount Juliet, Tennessee’s Global Vision Bible Church does not apologize for his belief in the Bible or his politics. In September, his political views concerning the pandemic got him banned from Twitter, the social media platform he had used since 2009.

Locke believes he is the first pastor ever banned by Twitter, but it’s almost a badge of honor to be booted from the same app that shunned former President Donald Trump.

In a video posted to Facebook, Locke announced his church's attorney sued the social media giant he called "censorship Nazis" within hours of the digital takedown. The pastor pointed out that, while he was censored, the Taliban is still active on Twitter.

“He is a patriot,” Locke said about Gilbert. “He is a man who will stand for your state and he is a man who will stand for the United States of America. He is a fighter and he will do just that.”
