Ants Cleaning Up For Firewood

We had a 100' water oak in distress so we decided to take it down before it fell on some structures. Near the root flare, it was 3’ diameter.

There was mistletoe and woodpeckers having a party.

Started cutting up firewood and found ants had tunneled for about 50 feet of the trunk. In the voids, ants were everywhere. After exposing their home, we video them busy cleaning up the mess!
