A number of American states, including Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky and Tennessee, have been hit by the largest tornadoes and hurricanes in history. More than a hundred people became victims of the destructive element. US President Joe Biden said he was ready to approve the declaration of an emergency in several regions upon request from the governors.

Meteorologists believe the powerful thunder cells were caused by the collision of warm, moist air from the Gulf of Mexico and colder, drier air from the north. The tornado's radius of action, according to preliminary estimates, was at least 400 kilometers. Strong air currents lifted cars and parts of houses to a height of at least nine kilometers, and the weather station, located in Kentucky, recorded a gust of wind 172 kilometers per hour.

Experts emphasize that this has never happened before. Previously, the most powerful tornado was observed in March 1925. Then the funnel covered a distance of 355 kilometers, passing through Missouri, Illinois and Indiana.
