The Chocolate Chip Cookie- As American as Apple Pie

The original chocolate chip cookie was actually made on accident by a woman named Ruth Wakefield. The story goes- Wakefield received a chocolate bar from Andrew Nestle, and she decided to chop it up and add it to her butter cookie recipe thinking the chocolate pieces would melt. Instead, they stayed whole and in tact. And so, the first chocolate chip cookie was born. Now that’s one happy accident!
