Fluid Health & Fitness - A Proactive Health Management System
We can be our own worst enemies. Poor posture, repetitive movement, past traumas and sedentary lifestyles create movement dysfunctions which, over time, evolve into injuries. In general we don’t properly use our muscles to support our joints. This accelerates the wear and tear on our joints and connective tissues dramatically increasing our risk of injury.
At Fluid Health & Fitness we’ve developed a proprietary system to assess your movement. We treat your movement health as a vital sign. First, using our motion capture technology, we measure the quality of your movement, compare it to the ideal, and highlight areas of concern. Through this process, you’ll be better equipped to recognize your movement dysfunctions which, if unaddressed, increases your risk of injury. .
Once your movement dysfunctions are defined, we restore the integrity and functional range of motion of your joints using our Core|6 movement system. This is an evidence based approach to movement management that uses exercise and mobility techniques to bring your body back to balance and restores optimal function. This is accomplished by grading the posture and movement quality in six key areas of your body. These areas can be given three grades:
1. Postural Restoration
2. Transitional Movement Quality
3. Dynamic Motion Integration
Grades are based on each joint’s ability to demonstrate whether it can maintain it's center of mass, move without compensation or integrate into efficient full body movement.
Once the grades are assigned, exercises are matched to the level of the joints specific abilities. The exercises are progressed as the joint is able to meet the required movement quality standards. The six areas are reassessed every six weeks.
Movement continuously shapes and re-shapes the human body. At Fluid Health & Fitness we use movement to model your body so it can perform at it’s potential.
Working with nationally accredited corrective exercise specialists, you’ll be guided through four phases of exercise programming. Our system progresses you through exercises which focus on injury prevention, all the way up to sport and athletic performance.
