My second guest was Neal Williams, a very interesting and well-read gentleman who i’ve spoken to many times and had always wanted to sit down with for a proper conversation.

Due to the length of our conversation I’ll be putting this out in two parts.
In part 1 Neil told me about how his mother’s side of the family moved from the West Indies island of St Kitts to Harlem in New York city to begin a new life. We discussed the mentality they came with in regards to America as the land of oppurtunity as well as the idea of legacy among immigrant groups
Neil spoke to me about his growing up in 60’s and 70’s SouthEast bronx and how he saw the area change over time with an influx of drugs and increasingly violent street gangs..
Neil also shared with me his thoughts on policing, racial biases among people, media, the raising of children and much more
