When your check engine light comes on, it can get expensive to get problems diagnosed. Thankfully there are now ways check the OBD-II PID codes for free, or for very low cost.

In this video I take you through getting the fault codes yourself, without having to go to a mechanic, where they'll often charge you $50-75 just to tell you the code and what might be wrong. All it takes is a $20 bluetooth dongle and an android smartphone with an app installed.
