Doberman: intelligent, loyal, and protective.
Behind the "mean face", imposing manner and strong, muscular body of the Doberman lies a very affectionate, loyal, companionable and very protective personality. He is a great friend for the whole family and a great guard dog. Also called dobie and doberman pinscher, this breed is known for its incredible intelligence and obedience. No wonder this dog is perfect for rescue and police work.
History:The doberman is a breed that appeared recently. In Germany, in the mid 1890s, it was bred by Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann, a tax collector. He wanted a medium-sized dog that would be a companion and a good watchdog to accompany him in his work, protecting him as he went door to door collecting taxpayers' money.
With a smooth, short, thick, and hard coat, the doberman comes in four colors: black, blue (a dark, bluish gray), red (reddish brown), and fawn, called Isabella (yellow-blond, orange, or reddish brown). In addition to its predominant coloring, this breed also has well-defined rust-red markings above the eyes, throat, forehead, muzzle, cheeks, legs and tail.
Health: Heart: dogs of this breed may have dilated cardiomyopathy, a common disease in medium and large dogs. With it, the heart weakens and does not contract properly, which reduces the blood flow in the body and causes weakness and even fainting.
