This is the moment a fiancé got the shock of her life when her partner proposed to her during a softball match - after she'd pretended to be injured on the field.

Sara Riou has been with Jacinta Comande for two years and was keen to pull out all the stops to make her proposal one to remember.

With the help of friends and loved ones, Sara organised to pop the question at Mirrabooka softball complex in Perth, western Australia during a league match.

Sara told Jacinta that it was a hugely important game and to come down and support her.

Then, around halfway through the match, Sara pretended to be injured whilst she was batting - prompting Jacinta to run on the field.

Jacinta can be seen running over from the stands to support her and that's when Sara gets down on one knee and proposes.

The players and the crowd then burst into applause as the couple share an emotional moment together.

Jacinta, from Perth Western Australia, said: "Sara had told me it was this huge game and that she'd invited all our friends and family down to watch.

"I didn't suspect a thing, and when she went down injured I was obviously really worried about her.

"I ran over and that's when she proposed - I was so surprised and it was such a special moment.
