Partagas Benji Master Series Cigar Review

This 5.5x50 stick features a dark brown butter soft and oily wrapper with an even firm pack, small veins, tight seams, double cap and dry hay aroma. First light reveals a slightly snug draw with good smoke output with medium bodied flavors of a very smooth oily bitter wood, with a bit of pepper going in to the short relatively clean finish. The first third mellows a bit to a mild-medium body with just plain grass and wood flavors keeping the fairly short clean finish. Burn is very good, draw opened up and is just perfect. 25 minutes in nearing the 1/2 way point flavors have shifted slightly. Body is back up to a solid medium, smoke output is excellent as is burn and draw. The draw flavors are joined by a combo of a bit of bread and grapefruit - is the best i can describe it. They are fleeting, quickly fading to the finish which is growing longer, keeping just a hint of pepper washing over the tounge till the next draw. Ending just over 1 hour where it began to get hot, the last third shifted flavors a bit with the bread going to a warm cream, and the tang dropping for just a slight general sweetness mixing with the wood. The ash held on for the entire third sections, construction was flawless the whole way.
