As a contractor the wholesale distributors around town were the place to get your gizmos.

You also got filled up on the industry happenings and a cup of joe for the road.

Sometimes no one would be there and other times everyone would be there.

Industry information was passed along at these places unless of course you were in a hurry... Nah.

You tried to plan ahead.

But there were service calls where you just went the the closest one and hoped for the best for the widget you needed.

Sometimes you might end up there several times in a day's time.

Sometimes not at all.

At the end of the day these distribution warehouses were a good place to just waste time.

As you got better there were times that through innovation and adaptability we found solutions to problems that took a certain amount of creativity to find resolve.

Those days grew the customer base.

Problem solving is a skill that is rarely taught in a real world fashion.

Certain aspects of traditional school teach critical thinking but in reality until you put your hands on the problem you would never imagine it in a classroom setting.

Experience is gained through apprenticeship and learning as you go.

Both good and bad habits are created.

It's your job alone to break the bad habits. #dbrn
