The Jews kept excellent records even during their captivity in Babylon. Genealogies were also used for other purposes such as taxes and land ownership. In this episode we will be looking at the details in both Matthew and Luke’s list of Jesus’ ancestors (family tree). To clear up any confusion Matthew traces Joseph Jesus’ adopted father (not biological) to King David through his son Solomon.
