The Quintet of the Hot Club of France, led by guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stephane Grappelli, was an extremely influential band in 20th century jazz.

Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli are both considered among the leading performers on their respective instruments in 20th century jazz.

The material on this album consists on 1937 recordings by the Quintet of the Hot Club of France which were remastered from the original 78 rpm records in 1974 and released on Angel Records, the classical music subsidiary of Capitol Records, under catalogue number S-36985.

This particular recording seems to have been deleted but these tracks are available on other compilations.
