351W Stroker - Recommended Parts

In this video, we review all the parts we have used in our 351W Stroker build. You are going to find out all the back history on the car, the choice of components, the good the bad and the just plain ugly.

We start from the bottom and work our way up, discussing the initial machine shop work, what they did, and how we received the engine block when they were finished.

We will tell you the reasons we wanted a high capacity oil pan and a high volume oil pan. Explain the primary benefits of the lubrication system. Even the name "lubrication system" suggests friction reduction, but the truth is, oil is the media that removes heat from the bearings and other hot components.

We spend some time talking about the differences between a stock engine and a stroker. Explain why the pistons of a stroker kit are shorter than stock pistons and why you may have to have your engine block cylinders clearance for the larger diameter of a stroker crankshaft.

Do you have questions about cylinder heads? Rocker arms, lifters, camshaft? Should you use solid or hydraulic lifters? Do roller lifters really make a difference in engine performance?
