Honda Z50 (1977) Pt 1. Facebook Marketplace motorcycle resurrection. junk to running in a day

Picked up a 1977 Honda Z50a to fix up and play around with, perfect bike to fit in the back of a Wrangler 4 door! Like a glove! It had a lot or “rube Goldberg” repairs of the last 42 years. I do not plan on doing a complete restoration, just want it to the point of looking good and being reliable. Amazing after all the abuse it has taken it runs good and doesn't even burn oil

clean repair carburetor

Honda Z50 Specs
The Honda Mini Trail 50 is part of the Z series of minibikes built from 1964 until 1998. Also called Monkey bikes and Gorillas, the small, lightweight trail bikes have folding handlebars for easy transportation. They were one of Honda's biggest selling line of motorbikes
They feature a single-cylinder, air-cooled, 49 cc overhead-cam engine. The four-stroke motor has a bore and stroke of 39 mm by 41.4 mm with a compression ratio of 8.8:1. It produces 4.5 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and attains a top speed of 30 miles per hour.
They have a three-speed manual gearbox with a foot-lever operated centrifugal clutch or an easy-shift three-speed semi-automatic. The bikes have chain and sprocket final drives. The front suspension consists of telescopic springs with rigid rear suspension. The 3.50-by-8-inch tires were low-inflation types at 14 psi.
They weigh 108 lbs. dry and 115 lbs. Wet. It's 48” inches long, 26.5 inches tall with folded handlebars (34” tall opened) and 14 inches wide with folded pegs. It's wheelbase is 43.5. inches. Seat height 24”
