Blue Spotted Stingray are burying themselves in the sand waiting for prey

Blue Spotted Stingray measure up to 35 centimeters (14 inches) wide, 80 centimeters (31 inches) long and weigh 5 kilograms (11 pounds). With the characteristics of a flat body, bluish spots with a brown basic skin color and has a stinging whip tail with a length 1.5 times greater than the length of its body. The presence of striking colors indicates the presence of venom, to frighten off predators. It is the smallest Stingray species in the order Batoidea.
