It is evident that from time to time, there are going to be attacks upon our lives from the enemy. His weapons are many, and methods innumerable. If you are truly serving the Lord and living your life in Him, then sooner or later you will have to get into the ring with him. It is just that way. Last week our family came under an attack that was clearly from the enemy.

And after a week of being tossed up and down, I felt tired, and worn out. And one night I had a dream. I saw myself standing in a barren, desert waste land. I stood at the edge of a very high cliff. I looked and saw a land afar off that could not possibly exist on this earth. It was beyond any imaginable human expression to describe the infinite glory and beauty of it. I was overcome with the lush and richness of the land. There were great and high mountains with mighty waterfalls flowing down from the tops of them. There were other hills and waterfalls, and rivers.

I began to sob from the deepest place from within myself. I was completely overcome by the beauty of it. I could barely take the power of the beauty. My human self could not take it. I believe the Lord showed me this on purpose to get me to see beyond the carnal problems of this world. To see what lies ahead and where we are all going. I realized after several days of thinking about it, that Jesus wants us to see that what all of us are going through, will not be there. That He will rescue you and me, "delivering us from the will of the enemy."

He showed me the glorious land. Like the land of Havilah, where "the gold of that land is good." The gold of the land I saw was of the Great King that shines in it. That good gold is the "gold tried in the fire that maketh rich," in this patch of earth we live in. So where we are, where we live, we have that gold that makes our barren land good because of it.

When we come to the golden City we will find something familiar, only glorified. It will not be a strange place to us. The gold of that former land was good, but the gold of heaven land will be far more glorious and eternal.

"I bear my testimony that there is no joy to be found in all this world like that of sweet communion with Christ. I would barter all else there is of heaven for that. Indeed, that is heaven. As for the harps of gold and the streets like clear glass and the songs of seraphs and the shouts of the redeemed, one could very well give all these up, counting them as a drop in a bucket, if we might forever live in fellowship and communion with Jesus." ~Charles Spurgeon
