Quick reference notes...

Echinacea is a powerful and effective plant medicine if used correctly.

Areas that must be understood for proper use of Echinacea
1)Species- Most commonly used; Purpurea (Stronger) you want this species to be the majority, Angustifolia (Not as strong)

2)Parts used
Root- More concentrated in Alkylamides- supports a healthy inflammation response. Best used for the acute stage.

Aerial- More concentrated in lipoproteins and polysaccharides- Stimulates and strengthens the constitutional response.

3)When to use and length of time
Products that use only the root w/ supportive herbs- Short duration, high dose, increase frequency. (resolvent, acute)

Products that use only the Aerial parts with supportive herbs- Low dose, long term use (prevention)

Products that use both the root and aerial parts- small amounts, increased frequency, and long-term use.

Top 3 product picks...
