Julian Acciard for Congress

I am Julian Acciard Congressional Candidate for NH-1ST district. I was born on RAF Upper Heyford England when my parents were still active duty. I come from a family generational military service, we bleed star spangled patriotism. I was raised on Wright Patterson Air Force base and moved up here to Atkinson, NH when I was 12 with my dad. I graduated from Timberlane Regional High School, as did my family.

I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed on Camp Pendleton, CA in 1st Division MP company. I deployed to Iraq and back and was medically retired in 2011. I was a homeless veteran for a while before I found my grit and started fighting to regain the honor I had in uniform. I went to college, worked private security and eventually moved back home to do DOD security on Pease Air National Guard Base protecting airmen. In 2018 I bought my first house, I moved my mother up here from Dayton, OH so I could care for her and I went to work helping my father expand the family business in which I am the Seacoast Regional Manager. Now, since being medically retired I went from homeless to owning a house and running for the house. If that isn't the American dream I don't know what is.

As your representative, and I do say representative because my job to represent NH-1ST district as someone from among the governed rather than a politician who ever consider themselves the governor, my job is to serve you. I believe in service as a Christian man, as a United States Marine Corps OIF veteran, as a father of 3 and husband of 10 years it is the foundation of my purpose on this earth.

Every position I've taken and each issue is personal to me because we live it and that lived experience is what's required to find real solutions. I've been a homeless veteran living in a garage with my wife and newborn son after being medically retired in 2011, as a boy I remember what it was like to hear gunshots and sirens in the streets and that's why I support our police, I remember the crack epidemic and if we don't do something about the opioid epidemic for which New Hampshire is ground zero we'll be dealing with the same issues here at home. I believe in the 2nd Amendment because I've had to protect my family. I'm pro-life because there's nothing better than walking in my front door while my kids scream daddy and when I first heard their heartbeats. I want to end wars of attrition because it's my family that has to ship out over there. I want to fix the Healthcare system because the ACA price’s my family out of the market like many of you. I care about lowering the cost to operate a business and make it easier to hire employees and pay them well because it's our lives and our livelihoods. I know what it's like to work 80 hours a week to barely scrape by because politicians think of us last. I know what it's like to question whether or not you're really a man because you're struggling to provide, I know what it's like to rebuild your life, I know how to make a marriage successful, I know what dedication means. I know what it means to fight veteran suicide and for mental health, I've seen the world, I know what it's like to run a business, manage a team, train men and women and lead them. My principles have not been tested by pieces of paper, they've been tested by blood, sweat, tears, sleepless years because I refuse to compromise.

I will go to DC and not just fight for you, I will SERVE you. My vote in congress is for NEW HAMPSHIRE and no other state may command it. I'm not doing this because I want to be a politician, I'm doing this because I no longer have a choice, I must stand and serve again. I have two years to save this country so my kids have a better one to grow up in. You wanted different, you got it. You wanted someone that understands you, you got it. You wanted a fighter, you got it. You wanted honor, courage and commitment, you got it right here in New Hampshire’s first district in me.
