Proud Boys terrorize Small Business Saturday shoppers on Long Island

Around 20 individuals from the extreme right Proud Boys volunteer army bunch walked Saturday on Long Island blazing white power signs, entering stores and yelling mottos.

The walk occurred in the Village of Rockville Center, on the South Shore in Nassau County.

"Individuals from the gathering walked down Sunrise Highway, waving American banners and

'Try not to Tread on Me' banners and playing music from the rear of a pickup truck," Newsday reports. "Some storekeepers seemed astounded and frightened by the exhibition, while cafes communicated worries about the gathering going to the local area."

Judy Griffin, a Democrat who addresses Long Island in the New York State Assembly, said the Proud Boys didn't have grants for the walk and didn't give the town notice about it, adding that the occasion appeared to be expected to upset Small Business Saturday.

"They're a troublesome gathering of disdain and brutality," Griffin said. "They don't have any spot here. I'm supportive of the right to speak freely of discourse, however this gathering doesn't have an awesome history and appear to come to networks to induce issues and enrapture."

Popularity based state Sen. Todd Kaminsky posted video from the walk on Twitter, stating: "The Neo-extremist Proud Boys walked through Rockville Center today, near my office. I think the most recent races encouraged them-l don't recollect this event previously. I won't be quiet. Their disdain has no spot here this isn't the Nassau I know. Who else will make some noise?"

Rockville Center Mayor Francis X. Murray, a Republican, told Newsday he didn't have the foggiest idea who the Proud Boys were, and declined to remark on the walk.
