Blind 15-year-old stars as quarterback for local team
Fields of vision!
Jasen Bracy lost the ability to see at the age of seven.
But that didn’t stop the 15-year-old Californian from reaching his goal of playing quarterback.
Jasen was diagnosed with retinal cancer as a child, and lost his sight as a result of the treatment he had to undergo.
His parents didn’t initially warm to the idea of Jasen playing football, but they couldn’t knock his determination. Jasen called up several local teams, and eventually one of them got back.
Jasen now plays quarterback for the Modesto Raiders, and his father communicates with him mid-game through a walkie-talkie and a speaker in his helmet.
