No kid is the same. Every one of our children is born with unique gifts, talents, abilities, and disabilities. How do we take kids who don’t fit into the box of traditional education and equip them for a successful future? How can we guide them to seek God’s plan and live a full life that honors the Lord and impacts His kingdom?

Listen to the Schoolhouse Rocked Podcast every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, at https://Podcast.SchoolhouseRocked.com

Yvette Hampton talks with homeschool moms, Natalie Vecchione and Cindy LaJoy, authors of the new book Blazing New Homeschool Trails, about how to find your teen’s unique strengths and gifts, and how to help guide them beyond the high school years.

Come back Wednesday and Thursday for the rest of this conversation.

Cindy LaJoy is the founder of Blue Collar Homeschool, an 11,000+ member Facebook group and website. On a daily basis, Cindy guides thousands of homeschoolers, whose children are seeking alternative paths in their homeschool journeys. She works as a special needs academic educator, advisor and consultant. Cindy’s biggest venture, to date, was the development of “Buckaroos Slices and Scoops”, a pizza and ice cream business now operated by her three young adults living with FASD (Fetal alcohol spectrum disorders). Buckaroos intentionally hires individuals with neurodiversity and developmental disabilities.

Natalie Vecchione is the co-founder of FASD Hope and the producer and host of the FASD Hope Podcast. FASD Hope's mission is to provide awareness, information and inspiration for people whose lives have been touched by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). She is a FASD parent advocate, special needs homeschool parent mentor and peer support mentor. Natalie is certified in Mental Health First Aid and she has participated in several trainings about Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). In 2019, she was honored to be chose as one of fifty parents in the state of North Carolina to participate in the first ECAC (Exceptional Children’s Assistance Center) Parent Leadership Summit. Natalie is blessed to have reinvented her career into a calling to help those parents, families and loved ones whose lives have been touched by FASD.
