RPSCA seizes seriously injured donkey and emaciated horse

When seized by RSPCA inspectors in February 2019, Thelma the donkey was found with an ill-fitting halter on her face, which was so tight that it had embedded her skin and left serious wounds to her throat and head. Cory the horse was in an emaciated state and had serious untreated dental issues.

This is the heartbreaking state our inspectors found Thelma and Cory in – but their story doesn't end here. We prosecuted Thelma and Cory's owner in court and he was convicted of animal ill-treatment.
