Slaughterhouse Memorial:
The massacre memorial is located at Rajshahi University . It was inaugurated on December 21, 2004. The massacre memorial is located just west of Rajshahi University, next to Shaheed Shamsuzzoha Hall.
During the long nine-month war of liberation , hundreds of innocent people from different parts of Rajshahi were captured and brutally killed. This monument was built for the purpose of preserving their memory. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. for the construction of the memorial. Abdul Khaleq made the recommendation to the government in 1996. Then the next Vice-Chancellor Professor M Saidur Rahman Khan built a memorial here on 16 December 1999. The cost of construction of the monument is estimated at Tk 2.5 crore. Of this, Tk 74 lakh has been spent on the construction of the first level. A 42-foot-tall monument stands on a circular cement altar high above the ground. The monument belongs to the Shaheed Memorial Museum of Rajshahi University. The whole time during the war of liberation the Pakistani aggressor Shahid ShamsuzzohaUse the hall as their cantonment.
