The falls were created from a "hanging valley" by the Missoula Floods about 15,000 years ago and are fed by underground streams from Larch Mountain. According to legend from the Multnomah tribe, the waterfall was formed after a young woman sacrificed herself to the Great Spirit to save Multnomah village from a plague. Jumping from the cliff, she gave her life for the Multnomah people. After her death, water began to flow from above the cliff, creating the waterfall. Film taken fom the "pool" and set to "Music In The Time of Shakespeare . . . The Witty Wanton" :) Comments Welcome
