Erik did a great job on his Magician with all these custom upgrades! He currently has 1400 miles on it.
Here is his letter to Motocheez:
“ I put bigger rim size - I went from 16" to 17" because I could not find good tires in size 16"... I purchased on E-bay used 17" rim from 1980s Husqvarna, cleaned, sanded, painted, purchased new spoke but had to bend them because could not find proper one (and could not afford to pay arm and leg for "good stuff"...),   laces them up and "wo a laaa"...
I also fabricated "dog bones" to raise the rear few inches and also have someone fabricated 2 forks extenders (I don't have lathe) which raised the front few inches (I am 5'11" and Magician was bit to low for me ?). Did it those mods almost 2 years ago, put probably 1000 miles in it and so far so good 
I also swap the carburetor and muffler as per your instruction (on your web page). I have few other bikes, but I love this thing - cheap, easy, fun to ride and get lot's of compliments and questions on parking lots..”
And some cheap hard guards i put on.”
