20211123 Security Guard - The Daily Summation

I'm sorry, but acting like people protecting lives and property (like security guards) are vigilantes is TOTAL SILLINESS.

Back when law enforcement officers were first employed by various municipalities, they DID NOT get hired or instated by government, but by the DIRECT ACTIONS of the residents.

These days, "real" police are typically called ONLY AFTER something serious has happened. Then it may take them as much time as HOURS, to get to the "scene of the crime" (granted it's USUALLY NOT that long, but it certainly can be).

Considering most events happen in minutes at MOST, if not SECONDS, that people being on the scene already, can be the difference between worse outcomes, and substantially better ones.

And this TOTALLY IGNORES the idea that people like security guards may well KEEP BAD EVENTS FROM HAPPENING IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Further, it's TOTALLY REASONABLE for such folks, to eject those doing wrong, help to recover stolen property, and bar entry to folks known to be "troublemakers."

Obviously, reasonable responses are called for (you don't gun somebody down for stealing even expensive electronics).

Do you like to be able to go into a store and find the things you want to buy?

Do you want to pay less for the things you purchase?

Then you support folks like security guards!
