Isaiah Meanderings (16): Ch13 - The Mighty Rise, The Mighty Fall; God Alone Is the Author of History

Looking at different ways people read the Book of Isaiah. Knowing that God leads us as we give scripture authority to speak into our lives. In Chapter 13 Isaiah is speaking into the future to a day when the greatest power in the land will be the nation of Babylon, and God foretells the fall of Babylon to Persia. As Babylon has rendered violence upon its fellow nations, it will succumb to violence. God defies the arrogance of the pride and the haughtiness of the mighty. Nations that decide themselves greater than all others, fall. Only God and God's goodness remains through the ages. All else is passing.
