padre- papá (father, dad)
hijo- (son)
hija -(daughter)
hijos -(children=sons & daughters together)
abuelo -(grandfather)
abuela -(gradmother)
nieto -(grandson)
nieta -(granddaughter)
hermano -(brother)
hermana -(sister)
hermanos -(siblings)
padrastro-(step-dad)
madrastra-(step-mom)
hermanastro-(step-brother)
hermanastra-(step-sister)
medio hermano-(half-brother)
media hermana -(half-sister)
tío-(uncle)
tía -(aunt)
primo -(cousin)
prima -(cousin)
yerno-(son-in-law)
nuera -(daughter-in-law)
suegro- (father-in-law)
suegra- (mother-in- law)

In Spanish we will use the masculine form of a noun to ask a question for some information we don't already know. When you answer you will provide a concrete answer specifying uncles and aunts, or brothers and sister, etc.

¿Cuántos tíos tienes? (How many aunts and uncles do you have?)
Yo tengo tres tíos y una tía. (I have three uncles and one aunt.)

¿Cuántos hermanos tienes? (How many siblings (brothers and sisters) do you have?)
Yo tengo un hermano y dos hermanas. (I have one brother and two sisters.)
