In this video you will learn comparatives and superlatives in Spanish.

FOR EQUAL COMPARATIVES USE:
tan + adjective + como
tanto/a/s + noun + como
verb+ tanto+ como

Pay attention to number (s/pl )and to gender (m/f)

Ella es tan inteligente como su mamá.
(She is as intelligent as her mom.)

Nosotros somos tan amables como ellos.
(We are as kind as they are.)

Tú tienes tantos bolígrafos como ella.
(You have as many pens as her.)

Yo tengo tantas mariposas como êl.
(I have as many butterflies as he does.)

Nosotros trabajamos tanto como el jefe.
(We work as much as the boss.)

Usted come tanto como ellos.
(You (formal) eat as much as they do.)

FOR UNEQUAL COMPARATIVES USE:
más + adj/adv/noun + que
menos + adj/adv/noun + que
mejor + adj/adv/noun + que
peor + adj/adv/noun + que

Ella es más alta que nosotros.
(She is taller than us.)
Nosotros somos menos bajas que ella.
(We are shorter than they are.)

Este carro es peor que aquel.
(This car is worse than that one.)

FOR THE SUPERLATIVES USE:
el/la/los/las +más/menos +noun+ de

Ellas son las más atléticas de la ciudad.
(They are the most athletic ones in the city.)

Los gatos son los mejores animales del mundo.
(Cats are the best animals in the world.)

You can also use the absolute superlative and for this use: ísimo/a/s
with some spelling changes to the original word
rico riquísimo
delicious (deliciously)

lento lentísimo
slow slowly

fácil fácilísimo
easy easiest

joven jovencísimo
young very young
