On February 21, 1965, Malcolm X, a prolific civil rights leader & former member of the Nation of Islam, was assassinated as he was shot & killed while making a speech at the Audubon Ballroom in Harlem, NY. Three men was accused & convicted of the assassination but evidence suggests that two of the three convicted men were innocent of the crime.
