From the late 80s through the 90s, Richard Donner was the director of so many of the movies that informed our development as genre fans: SUPERMAN, LADYHAWKE, THE GOONIES, LETHAL WEAPON, MAVERICK, THE OMEN, and more. Plus, there's all the television he directed: TALES FROM THE CRYPT, KOJAK, THE WILD WILD WEST, GET SMART, and perhaps most impactful: THE BANANA SPLITS and GILLIGAN'S ISLAND.

And let's not forget "Nighmare at 20,000 Feet" with William Shatner.
