Phillip Burton: The Founder of San Francisco’s Political Establishment

This week we learn about the life and political career of Congressman Phillip Burton. Burton was the founder of San Francisco’s current political establishment. He successfully introduced just about all of the progressive policies that are still promoted today. He cleared the way for Nancy Pelosi, Willie Brown and others.
