The birds appeared in the keeper I have at home, in the Mato Preto neighborhood, in São Bento do Sul, Santa Catarina, Brazil. What a beautiful visit!

Also known as the dirty face, the red-fronted stinger (Pyrrhura frontalis) is a bird of the Psittacidae family, which inhabits forest regions, usually in flocks. Suffers from habitat loss.

Scientific name
From (Greek) purrhos = with the color of the flame of fire, red; and -diamonds = with the tail; and from (Latin) frontalis, frontis = forehead, forehead, forehead . ⇒ (Bird with) Red tail and forehead.

Characteristics
It measures between 24 and 28 centimeters in length and weighs between 72 and 94 grams.
It is green, even on the cheeks, with a brownish ear area. Red forehead, abdomen and underside of tail. White periophthalmic region, as well as the face. It has no apparent external differences between males and females.
