non-compliance 101: UWO student arrested for refusing to show jab passport

Around 11-12 November 2021, an anonymous student at the University of Western Ontario (UWO) was arrested for refusing to show a jab passport and for refusing to wear a muzzle. We have this footage via Instagram's @westernsavages, a community news organization normally focused on shenanigans, pranks and hijinks at Western, which is located in London Ontario.

In the tagline explanation below the video was written that the protagonist is in his second year of an unspecified [0] Engineering Science degree. Of note is that, along with other universities in Canada and owing to our English tradition of self-governance, the UWO has its own police force which is tasked with enforcing campus security. Two uniformed officers attended the scene of non-compliance with POLICY 3.1.1 – COVID-19 Vaccination Policy [1], which was promulgated by President Alan Shepard on 20 October 2021.

The video is notable for its quiet nature and the calm, almost funereal, attitude of the lecture hall. No shouted words, no expressions of sympathy, only a few whispered comments. The lecturer is notable by his or her absence at the podium desk, although the event is plainly in mid-lecture (as evidenced by the contents of the powerpoint slide).

We can imagine the sequence of events to be this:
1 Student enters the hall muzzled along with everyone else, and lecture begins;
2 at some point in time S removes his muzzle;
3 Lecturer notices removal and asks S to comply;
4 S refuses L and L is therefore compelled to call Police in order to enforce compliance;
5 P asks S for his jab passport, whereupon S refuses to comply;
6 P handcuffs S and escorts him out of lecture hall.

It says here that the student has the right to challenge this event in court even if he is not fined. His engineering education has thus been compromised. If he now takes the opportunity to educate himself in the law (instead of his chosen field) he probably thus will experience student discipline under policy section 5.0(ii) and if all goes according to script, the losing party will appeal to the court system of Ontario.

I will give freely of my time to the student if he should choose to mount a defense. Furthermore, I volunteer to form a group in order to crowdfund a charity for legal challenges of Canadian university policies in the fall-out of covid-19. We only need two more individuals to start a gofundme effort. I watch the comments below, and invite interested parties to furnish me an @ address with direct message system where we can discuss the preliminaries in confidence.
