Whitney in Ruins! | Tikal | Whitney Bjerken

Whitney is in Guatemala for a gymnastics camp. So, of course she and her brother had to go check out the Mayan ruins at Tikal! Whitney’s brother Sterling had broken his jaw the week before and nobody was sure if he was going to be able to travel in his condition. Luckily, his doctor said it was ok to go! In this video Whitney, Sterling, Mom and Dad explore the ancient lost city of Tikal as Whitney does gymnastics on the tops of the pyramids. The ancient ruins of Tikal are amazing and this trip is one that we will never forget! The attack of the giant grasshopper was also unforgettable!!

Tikal is an ancient Mayan citadel in the rainforests of northern Guatemala. Possibly dating to the 1st century A.D., Tikal flourished between 200 and 850 A.D. and was later abandoned. Its iconic ruins of temples and palaces include the giant, ceremonial Lost World Pyramid and the Temple of the Grand Jaguar. At 70 meters, Temple IV is the tallest pre-Columbian structure in the Americas and offers sweeping views.
