Psychological Projection/Transference

After going back and reviewing my interaction with this fellow, I am guessing the metaphor he is talking about... that.. he is referring to Projection/Transference...

I'd look forward to hearing what others have to say about this... My understanding of "Transference" is that it is based on one's repression and the concept of a creation of the "shadow self" and one's being oblivious to it's existence...

and so it seems that this fellow assumes that nobody ever smashes the mirror... that nobody ever shines the light of consciousness within, to the point of actually becoming the light, thus eliminating the shadow altogether.. free from the projection..

interesting stuff... so yeah, your feedback is welcome.

Quick Google search on the subject gives you this:
-------------------------------

"Transference occurs when a person redirects some of their feelings or desires for another person to an entirely different person. One example of transference is when you observe characteristics of your father in a new boss. You attribute fatherly feelings to this new boss. They can be good or bad feelings"

-----------------------------------

"But what does projection actually mean in this sense? According to Karen R. ... Ed, LCSW, projection refers to unconsciously taking unwanted emotions or traits you don't like about yourself and attributing them to someone else. A common example is a cheating spouse who suspects their partner is being unfaithful."
