Star Trek TOS and American Culture

We all know that Star Trek has had an impact on American Culture, but how has American Culture first impacted Star Trek?

There's a lot I had to cut out, like space hippies, race relations, the fact that the first interracial kiss had to be re-shot as a stage kiss, the fact there was a Chaplin on board and so much more. But I hope you get the idea with this small sampling of how American and cultures from around the world first impacted Star Trek.

I hope that you also take the time to learn more about the Cold War. The Cold War wasn't about fighting the Communism boggy man, it was about fighting the atrocities the USSR did starting with the occupation of Eastern European nation when the war ended. There's a lot there and I hope you take the time to learn more about that.
