Facts about jellyfish 5.They increase due to human activities.
they increase due to human activities. Jellyfish have inhabited the oceans for at least 500 million years, Science Daily reports. That is, they even existed before dinosaurs lived on earth. And maybe they will survive for thousands of years, one of which is because of human activity.
Unlike other marine animals that are harmed by water pollution by humans, jellyfish are just the opposite. The Guardian page says that their number is now increasing due to human activities. Massive fishing, for example, makes their competitors in foraging drastically reduced.
The increasing temperature of the oceans makes the spread of jellyfish more widespread. The development of coastal areas allows their polyps to develop freely. Even reduced oxygen levels do not harm them because they are very tolerant of it. So it could be in the future the jellyfish population will increase due to human activities.
